Criminal law constitutes the core of Elden Advokatfirma’s legal practice.

We are the country’s largest criminal law practice, and have one of Norway’s largest teams of lawyers specialising in the field of criminal law and litigation. A number of our lawyers are retained to serve as defence counsel and counsel for the aggrieved by district courts, courts of appeal and the Supreme Court of Norway. Eight of our lawyers have the right to represent clients before the Supreme Court of Norway. Some of our lawyers are also members of the Norwegian Bar Association’s law committee for criminal law and procedure.

The firm’s engagement in criminal law and procedure started when John Christian Elden became a trainee lawyer in his father’s practice. For the past 30 years, Elden’s lawyers have been involved in the vast majority of Norway’s most high-profile criminal cases. We have always fought to uphold the rule of law and prevent miscarriage of justice. We have also ensured that neither the prosecuting authority nor the courts violate our clients’ human rights.

Our in-depth legal expertise and extensive experience of litigation, as well as the size of our Criminal Law practice, enable us to assist you in any criminal case – irrespective of whether you are a suspect, aggrieved party or next of kin.
